Maintenance of wood drawers

Our wood drawers are crafted from high-quality natural oak, smoked oak and ash, and they’re all finished with a clear matt lacquer to enhance the natural beauty of the grain while providing a durable, low-gloss surface. The lacquer helps to protect the wood from everyday wear and tear while allowing the authentic texture and warmth of the wood to shine through. With a little care, these drawers will maintain their beauty and functionality for years to come

Daily cleaning

For everyday cleaning, simply use a soft cloth or microfiber towel dampened with warm water. Gently wipe the surface to remove any dust, fingerprints, or light stains. Avoid using excessive water, and always dry the surface immediately with a clean, dry cloth to prevent moisture from affecting the wood.

For any sticky or greasy spots, use a mild soap diluted in water. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners, as they can damage the lacquered surface. If necessary, you can also use a wood-specific cleaner, ensuring it’s designed for lacquered finishes.

Preventive care

While the lacquered finish adds durability, a few simple preventive measures will ensure your wood drawers stay looking their best:

  • Avoid abrasive materials. Do not use abrasive scrubbers or harsh cleaning products that could scratch or dull the lacquered surface. Stick to soft cloths or microfiber towels for cleaning.
  • Though lacquered, protect the drawers from excessive moisture. Wipe up spills promptly and avoid leaving wet items inside the drawers for extended periods to prevent potential water damage.
  • Handle with care. Avoid slamming the drawers, and always ensure they are fully closed when not in use. This will help prevent unnecessary wear on the lacquered finish and prolong the lifespan of the drawer mechanisms.

Adjustments

If any adjustments are needed over time, this can easily be done via the drawer runners. The runners are designed for simple adjustment, allowing you to modify the drawer's alignment or depth to ensure smooth and easy operation. If you notice any changes in performance, these small tweaks can extend the life of the drawers and maintain their functionality.

By following these simple guidelines, your wood drawers will maintain their timeless elegance and functionality.
