Fenix NTM is a high-performance surface with a soft, matte finish and a beautifully understated look. It’s resistant to fingerprints, everyday wear, and minor scratches, making it ideal for a calm, functional kitchen. With minimal daily effort and occasional deep care, your Fenix surface will stay clean and refined for years to come.
Daily cleaning
For everyday cleaning, warm water and a soft cloth go a long way. If needed, you can use standard household cleaners, such as all-purpose sprays, disinfectants, or degreasers. Even limescale removers and acetone can be used safely, as long as you follow the product’s instructions and avoid prolonged contact.
To preserve the matte texture, avoid abrasive creams, scouring pads, or hard brushes. Instead, use a melamine sponge (also known as a magic sponge) for gentle yet effective cleaning. After cleaning, rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry with a clean, soft cloth. This final step removes any residue and prevents limescale buildup that can alter the look of the surface over time.
Deep cleaning
If the surface has developed dull areas or stubborn marks, a more thorough cleaning may be needed. Here's how:
- Spray a kitchen degreaser evenly across the surface.
- Use a clean, damp cloth and gentle circular motions to lift any dirt or residue.
- Rinse with plenty of warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
- Follow with a limescale remover using the same process.
- For deep-set residue, use a melamine sponge in light, circular movements.
- Finish by rinsing and drying once more with clean water and a soft cloth.
Minor repairs
Fenix has the unique ability to self-heal minor surface scratches with heat. For small marks or micro-scratches:
- Dampen a sheet of kitchen paper or a clean towel and place it over the area.
- Gently apply a warm iron (low heat) on top for no more than 10 seconds at a time.
- Repeat if needed, rewetting the towel each time.
- Finish by wiping the area with lukewarm water and a microfiber cloth.
Preventive care
Fenix is resilient, but thoughtful care helps it age well. Avoid harsh, abrasive products, sandpaper, steel wool, or scrubbing tools that can compromise the surface. Strong acidic or alkaline substances should also be avoided, as they can stain or degrade the material.
Bleach and heavily chlorinated products aren’t recommended. If using sodium hypochlorite, keep it below 5% concentration and limit contact to under 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Hydrogen peroxide should stay under 3% if possible, and never sit on the surface for more than 10 minutes without rinsing and drying carefully.
When using solvents, ensure your cloth is perfectly clean to avoid leaving marks. If streaks appear, simply rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
Furniture polish or wax-based cleaners should be avoided, as they create a sticky layer that traps dirt and dulls the matte surface.
Never use metal scrapers or tools to remove stubborn substances like dried paint or plaster. Instead, rely on warm water and gentle detergents.
With mindful daily habits and the occasional deep clean, your Fenix countertop will continue to offer quiet durability and timeless elegance in your kitchen.
