Regular Cleaning
The Corian countertop is smooth and solid, making it easy to maintain. Daily cleaning can be done easily with a clean, damp cloth, followed by wiping with a dry cloth to avoid limescale deposits (especially in dark colors). For stubborn dirt, use a damp cloth with a mild universal household detergent. Remember to remove residue with lukewarm water and wipe it off with a clean, dry cloth.
Spot Removal
Stubborn stains that cannot be removed with a mild universal detergent may require more thorough cleaning, depending on the type and extent of the stain. You may need to order a special cleaning product designed for mineral surfaces. Highly colored foods can cause stains on particularly light-colored mineral countertops. These should be removed immediately, as should spills from colored liquids such as coffee, fruit juices, acids, spices, etc.
Preventive Measures
Refrain from using abrasive substances, or unsuitable materials such as coarse abrasive sponges sandpaper, or steel wool. Strongly acidic or alkaline products should be avoided, as they can stain the surface.
Bleach, heavily chlorinated products, and peroxides should be avoided, as they can degrade the surface.
Avoid using furniture polishes or wax-based cleaners in general, as these tend to form a sticky layer that attracts and traps dirt.
Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, or any other metal tools to remove stains, paint, plaster, or other substances from the surface.
Corian is not heat-resistant; therefore, always use trivets for hot pots, pans, baking trays, and similar items.
